Vintage 1930's Strong Flat Steel Riveted Park Bench From Walkerton Ontario Prison
- This relic as soon as filled in front of the Walkerton Prison from the early 1950's.
The same renowned prison where Mickey McArthur escaped in 1973 ... This bench has a load of record and numerous people have remained on it over the last 90 years.

It is as strong as a container. It was made with the older manufacturing style Rivets instead of welds or bolts. NO WELDS ANYWHERE and the rivets are uncommon in the fact that they have heads on both ends ... so the front and back end of the rivet have round heads ... I was said to by a Metal Smith that this is rare compared to the round head and hammered "level" side on the reverse.

It rested out front of the Walkerton Prison doorway for a variety of decades just before being retired.
I have had it in storage space for even more compared to a years.
It has had a few coats of paint. Maybe left as is for personality or tidied up and painted.

An important historical item of furniture and record.

It gauges 60" broad x 33.5" high x 25" deep.

It was made by a local blacksmith store I would certainly suspect near the Walkerton, ON area.

This can be seen or chosen up day or night at the corner of Northfield Drive and Bridge Road in Waterloo.

Thanks
