Medieval sword replica with scabbard - $150 in Kitchener, Ontario for sale

Hobbies & Collectors
$150

This replica is built just like a genuine sword using carbon steel, but it's not sharpened, so it's quite safe to handle (if you're not clubbing it over any heads or sticking it in any eyes). However, should you happen to have a desire to cleave something in twain, this sword can certainly be sharpened and utilized like the real deal.

This is the "Towton" hand-and-a-half sword, created by the highly reputable Windlass Steelcrafts, official contractors for the USMC and other military forces, with a reputation for creating some of the most historically accurate medieval swords that can be found in the lower price ranges. Windlass, who were originally founded to produce Kurkhi knives for the British army, are famous for using good quality carbon steel that has been heat treated using a specialized, state of the art, heat treating furnace. The "Towton" in particular was one of their most popular entry-level swords (selling for US$225.00) before it was discontinued, and it was the personal favourite of Chris Howard, head of the Canadian-based distributor of Windlass swords.

Both the handle and the scabbard are created using a mix of steel and synthetic leather. The sword is 103cm/44.5" long and weighs 2lbs11oz. The blade is 90cm/35.5" long, and the scabbard is 93cm/36.5" long.

This particular sword has never been sharpened and has been used strictly as a "wall hanger", never having seen mortal combat nor even been used to cut anything.

Will meet on Towline Road in Cambridge in the plaza immediately north of the 401 to exchange the sword for $150 cash.
