Vintage 1930's Solid Flat Steel Riveted Park Bench From Walkerton Ontario Jail
- This relic once stood in front of the Walkerton Jail from the early 1950's.
The same famous jail where Mickey McArthur escaped in 1973.....
This bench has a load of history and many folks have sat on it over the last 90 years.
It is as solid as a tank. It was made with the older production style Rivets as opposed to welds or bolts.
It sat out front of the Walkerton Jail entrance for a number of decades before being retired.
I have had it in storage for more than a decade.
It has had a few coats of paint. It could be left as is for character or cleaned up and repainted.
A true historical piece of furniture and history.
It measures 60" wide x 33.5" tall x 25" deep.
It was made by a local blacksmith shop I would suspect near the Walkerton, ON area.
This can be seen or picked up day or night at the corner of Northfield Drive and Bridge Street in Waterloo.
Thanks
